Title: THE BLUECOAT PAY TRIBUTE TO THE REVIVAL GROUP
The Bluecoat, who reopened their doors on Friday 23 May, after a temporary closure following a fire on 13 May, have paid tribute to The Revival Group, fire and flood restoration specialists, for their hard work in ensuring the Bluecoat re-opened in time for the bank holiday weekend, traditionally one of the busiest weekends of the year for the popular arts centre.
Alastair Upton, Chief Executive at the Bluecoat comments: “We were relieved to reopen after just 10 days of closure. Since the fire on the morning of Tuesday 13 May, Teams from Revival and Arepa have pulled out all the stops to get the building up and running and open to the public once again. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their hard work and commitment to helping us achieve this.”
The Bluecoat project is a prime example of the true capabilities that The Revival Group now offered since it formed in March, following an acquisition deal which saw The Revival Company gain 80% of Arepa UK.
Graham Orriss, Managing Director of The Revival Group says: “As Liverpool’s oldest building and one of the key culture venues in the city, the Bluecoat has a critical role to play during the city’s year as Capital of Culture in 2008. We recognised the importance of having the arts space open to the public at this time.”
Graham continues: “In today’s market place there are few disaster recovery companies that can offer all the necessary skills from a single source, but with the linking of Arepa and The Revival Company, we have the established network and the technical expertise that are second to none.”
“With the work that our team has undertaken on the Bluecoat this just highlights that fact even more. There was a lot of damage caused by the fire, including much technical equipment, such as computers and printers etc, but with our strong network, experience and specialist team of skilled people, we were able to restore everything and with minimal business interruption.”
Graham’s comments come after the The Revival Group worked solidly for 10 days, which included the restoration of urgent items of IT equipment and the decontamination of the building structure, including the performance area which hosted events over the bank holiday weekend.
Alastair Upton concluded: “The minimum disruption to the public and exhibiting artists was key. The Revival Group understood the importance of this and, working with them, we were able to ensure we were open again, which was much appreciated.”
